WP Lens Privacy Policy

WP Lens is a free Chrome extension by MedAmine Web. It does not collect, store, sell or share personal data, and it has no analytics or tracking.

What it reads: when you click the WP Lens button, it reads the page in the current tab and requests a few public files on that same website (such as plugin readme.txt files and the WordPress REST API index) to identify the site’s WordPress version, theme and plugins.

What it sends: to check for updates and vulnerabilities, it sends public plugin and theme names (for example “contact-form-7”) and version numbers to api.wordpress.org and www.wpvulnerability.net, and requests the list of supported PHP versions from www.php.net. It never sends the address of the page you inspect, your cookies, or anything you type.

What it stores: lookup results are cached for up to 12 hours, and the last scan for 10 minutes, in your browser’s extension storage on your own device. Removing the extension deletes this data.
