The Google leak

What the leak put on the table

In May 2024, the internal documentation for Google Search’s Content Warehouse API became public: 2,596 modules and 14,014 attributes.

It gives no weights and no ranking formula, but it shows what Google measures on a page and across a site: content, links, freshness, authors, spam and mobile.

The method

An audit that doesn’t guess the algorithm

Each signal is classified by how much of it can be observed from outside Google.

Direct
Readable on the page: tags, canonical, HTTPS.
Proxy
Estimated through an outside measurement: speed, internal linking.
Internal
Only Google can see it. Flagged INTERNAL-ONLY and not scored.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 2024 Google leak?

In May 2024, the internal documentation for Google Search's Content Warehouse API became public. It describes 14,014 attributes, with no weights and no ranking formula.

Does this audit prove how Google ranks my site?

No. The leak doesn't say which signals affect rankings or by how much. The audit checks what can be observed on your page and compares it with those signals. It never makes up weights.

What does INTERNAL-ONLY mean in the report?

Some signals only exist inside Google's systems, such as click data. The audit lists them but doesn't score them, because nobody outside Google can measure them.

Is the audit free?

Yes, the online audit is free. If you want the issues fixed, ask for a fixed-price quote on the contact page.

How long does the audit take?

About a minute. The tool fetches the page, the robots file, the sitemap and the PageSpeed data, then shows the report.

What should I do after the audit?

Start with the priority actions. If you'd rather hand them over, send me the report through the contact page and I'll send you a quote.
