Why a WordPress site needs maintenance
WordPress, your theme and your plugins change all the time. Each update fixes security holes and bugs, but it can also cause conflicts. A site left alone gets slow, then vulnerable, and eventually breaks at the worst possible moment.
What I do every month
- I back up the site before touching anything.
- I apply the updates and check the key pages (home, forms, cart).
- I monitor the site’s security and uptime.
- I send you a clear report, without jargon.
Maintenance or managed hosting?
If your site runs on a dedicated server or a VPS, maintenance can extend to managing the server: system updates, resource monitoring and hosting tuning. We’ll discuss it during the audit.
A WordPress maintenance plan sized for your site
A business website and an online store don’t need the same maintenance. I offer a monthly plan fitted to your site, with preventive maintenance (updates, backups, security) and, if needed, ongoing development to grow the site.
- Business website: updates, backups, security and monitoring.
- WooCommerce maintenance: the above, plus checks on checkout, payments and emails after every update.
- Managed WordPress hosting: server management for sites on a VPS or dedicated server.

Frequently asked questions
What is WordPress website maintenance?
It's the regular upkeep of the site: core, theme and plugin updates, backups, security and monitoring, so it stays fast, secure and online.
How much does WordPress maintenance cost per month?
It depends on the size of the site, whether it has a store and how much hands-on time is included. As a benchmark, published preventive maintenance plans sit around €40 to €100 per month before VAT. I give you a fixed price after the audit.
What does a WordPress maintenance plan include?
Tested updates, off-site backups, security (firewall, malware scans), uptime monitoring and a monthly report.
How often should WordPress be updated?
Security updates should go in quickly. The others are grouped and tested regularly, after a backup, to avoid conflicts.
What's the difference between maintenance and managed hosting?
Maintenance looks after the WordPress site. Managed hosting adds the server: operating system, resources and hosting configuration.
